How to manage Apple Watch data in Apple Health?

This guide explains how to manage the data your Apple Watch sends to the Apple Health app.

Since the Apple Watch syncs data automatically, these steps will help you confirm the connection and prioritize it as a data source — so Anticipate can reliably pull in your sleep, activity, and other signals and turn them into clear, personalized insights over time.

You will need an iPhone that is paired with your Apple Watch.

If you can’t find these setup steps in the Health app, or some data seems to be missing, please check Health App's official guide for the latest step-by-step instructions.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Health app.
  2. Tap the Browse tab in the bottom-right corner, then select a health category, such as Activity.
  3. Choose a specific data type, like Steps or Workouts.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Data Sources & Access.
  5. Under the Data Sources section, you will see a list of all apps and devices providing data. Tap Edit in the top-right corner.
  6. To ensure your Apple Watch data is prioritized, press and hold the reorder icon (three horizontal lines) next to your Apple Watch and drag it to the top of the list. Tap Done to save your changes.
