About your daily forecast
Your daily forecast is the first thing you see when you open the Anticipate app. Located on the Today tab, it provides a simple, predictive summary of what your day might feel like, helping you navigate it with more awareness.
How Your Forecast is Generated
Every morning, Anticipate analyzes signals from your connected devices and your recent journal entries to create a personalized forecast.
This process combines several key data points:
- Sleep Data: Information from Apple Health (if you use a wearable like an Apple Watch) or from your phone's motion sensors if you enable background tracking.
- Activity Levels: Metrics like your daily steps and exercise minutes are pulled from Apple Health.
- Recent Journal Entries: Tags and notes you've added about your mood, health, and activities provide crucial context.
- Weather: Local conditions (like rain, sunlight, temperature) that can subtly affect energy and mood.
- Travel: Signals that you’re away from your usual routine (for example, changes in location/time zone or being on the move).
Reading Your Daily Snapshot
The Today's snapshot section uses widgets to give you an at-a-glance summary of your day. These widgets are updated based on the tags you add throughout the day.
Key widgets include:
- Day Balance: A high-level summary of your day's positive and negative factors, rated from Hard to Balanced to Nice.
- Weather: A forecast based on your location with a gentle suggestion, like "Stay cozy."
- Sleep: A rating of your previous night's sleep (e.g., Fair, Good, Poor).
- Activity: Your current activity level, such as Low or High.
- Mood: The app's prediction for your mood (e.g., Pleasant, Stable, Down). You can always override this by adding your own mood tag.
Your forecast becomes more accurate as you provide more context.
Tap the plus (+) button to log events, feelings, or activities. Anticipate also suggests Smart tags (marked with a ✨ icon), which are automatically calculated from your data. You can always remove a smart tag if it doesn't feel right.
Tips for an Accurate Forecast
The more information Anticipate has, the more accurate and personalized your forecast will be.
To improve your forecast:
- Log your days consistently: Use the + button to add tags for your activities, moods, self-care routines, and any other relevant events.
- Keep your devices connected: Ensure that your Apple Health data and any other connected devices are syncing regularly.
- Review and adjust: If an automatically generated tag doesn't seem right, you can always remove it to improve future analyses.
