What data does Anticipate collect?

Updated over 2 months ago

Anticipate uses a limited set of data to help you track and understand your mood. Let’s take a closer look at what that includes!

Account Information

  • When you join Anticipate, we generate a random anonymous ID (Unique User ID), stored securely in your phone’s Keychain and mirrored on Google Cloud. It is created to link your account with your subscription data.

  • We do not collect and do not store personal identifiers such as your legal name, email address, phone number, or device ID — unless you explicitly share them when contacting support.

You can use Anticipate completely anonymously to us.

Payment Information

  • When you subscribe, we receive:

    • Confirmation that a purchase took place

    • Subscription price and duration

    • Whether or not your subscription has ended

  • All payments are handled through the App Store. We do not collect or store your full payment details, only your subscription status as confirmed by Apple.

Health and Environment Data

  • To help understand your mood, Anticipate analyses:

    • Sleep

    • Activity

    • Environmental context (e.g. sunlight exposure, travel)

  • This data is automatically collected if you grant access to:

    • Apple Health

    • Device motion sensors

    • Location

  • It’s stored on your device only. It isn’t accessible to us or anyone else.

Mood and Journal Data

  • When you log moods, add tags, or write journal entries — including anything you share in chat — we treat this as self-reported, sensitive data.

  • It’s stored on your device only. It isn’t accessible to us or anyone else.

Usage Information

  • We collect anonymized usage data, such as:

    • Which features you use

    • Any errors you encounter

    • How often you open the app

    • Time spent in the app

  • This helps us improve the product and fix bugs.

Device and Technical Data

  • We may collect basic device info, such as:

    • Phone model

    • Operating system

    • App version

  • This helps us ensure performance, compatibility, and security.

Read more about it in our Privacy Policy.
